SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)

Police are investigating gunshots that were fired into the bedroom of a home in San Francisco's Bayview District on Saturday night.

At about 8:40 p.m., San Francisco police responded to a home in the 1200 block of Palou Avenue near Ingalls Street following a report of shots fired.

Residents told officers that they were sleeping in their bedroom when a bullet shot through the front wall of their house.

The bullet did not strike any of the home's occupants and became lodged in the opposite wall of the bedroom, police said.

Officers located a parked vehicle outside of the home that was damaged by the gunfire.

Police also collected multiple spent bullet casings on the street about a block away, in the 1100 block of Palou Avenue.

No other damage was reported and officers are continuing to investigate the incident, police said.
