Man Killed In Crash Saturday Identified

A man killed in a head-on collision involving a vehicle and two motorcycles Saturday near Soquel Creek in Santa Cruz County was 29-year-old Jose Vidal-Garcia, according to the county coroner's office.

Vidal-Garcia was a resident of Watsonville, a coroner's office employee said today.

The California Highway Patrol was dispatched at 1:10 p.m. Saturday to the collision of the two motorcycles and vehicle in the 1600 block of Old San Jose Road, a mountain roadway near Soquel Creek and about four miles north of Capitola, CHP officials said.

The CHP was conducting an investigation into to the crash, but no further details were immediately available this afternoon.
